Goal Systems International Ltd has released SAR, Sysout Archival and Retrieval, for VSE: the St Albans-based company claims that a VSE data centre can reduce the amount of paper used by up to 40%; Sysout Archival and Retrieval archives system output to disk then automatically backs it up to tape at user-specified intervals; views of reports can be customised to display only the data required, and any number of logical views can be created from the same archive; SAR enables browsing through archived data by date, output identification or generation; the personal computer option is Systems Application Architecture-compliant and offers a 3270 emulation mode, the firm said.
