AMDAHL FIRST US SUPER ORDER

Amdahl Corp has at last landed its first US order for the Fujitsu VP line of IBM-compatible supercomputers: GECO Geophysical Co Inc wants the 286Mflops Amdahl 1100 model of the VP for its Houston data centre. GECO Geophysical is the US affiliate of the GECO group of Sandvika, Norway; it is a Schlumberger firm.
