Alcatel-Lucent has inked a contract worth €12m with Algeria-based oil and gas company Sonatrach, to manage its network evolution and deploy communication services across its 157 sites in Algeria.
The contract includes, supply, installation, deployment, project management, integration and commissioning for communication services which is expected to streamline operations by connecting its network, people, business processes and knowledge.
Alcatel-Lucent said that it will replace a TDM voice system to provide Sonatrach group with its IP communication servers, for unified communications, voice over internet protocol (VoIP), and multimedia applications.
The company said that its IP communication offerings will enable Sonatrach group’s employees in mobile or desk bound roles across the country, to be connected over a centralised network and transform the method of communication through a range of secured and reliable applications.
