ADTRAN has expanded its fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) offerings by adding a portfolio of advanced active ethernet solutions which includes total access 5000 optical line terminal (OLT) and an enhanced suite of total access 300 series optical network terminals (ONTs).
ADTRAN said that active ethernet is a new addition to total access 5000 multi-service access and aggregation platform (MSAP) which allows customers to provide up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) bidirectional bandwidth per subscriber.
Total access 5000 24-port active ethernet OLT uses a provisioning model and is fully integrated into the total access element management system (EMS) for plug-and-play operation, ease of troubleshooting, and complete performance monitoring.
The total access 300 product line features 324E indoor ONT which offers two POTS interfaces, four 10/100/1000 ethernet interfaces and a SFP-based network connection; and 354E single family unit (SFU) outdoor ONT that includes two POTS interfaces, four 10/100/1000 ethernet interfaces and SFP connection in outdoor enclosure.
In addition, it also offers total access 372E small business unit (SBU) outdoor ONT which includes eight POTS ports, four DS1 circuit emulated T1 interfaces and two 10/100/1000 ethernet interfaces.
ADTRAN carrier networks division manager of broadband access product line Darrell Brown said that the addition of high-capacity, 24-port active ethernet OLT to total access 5000, offers many benefits including ability to quickly and provide advanced services to residential and business customers in both metro and rural environments.
