Adobe introduced Scene7 eVideo Streaming Solution, a new addition to the Scene7 hosted media publishing platform.

The new offering leverages ubiquitous Adobe Flash Platform technologies, enabling users to upload, transcode, edit, manage and stream content on the Web.

Adobe says its Flash Player is on over 98% of connected computers and delivers more than 80% of Web video worldwide, ensuring that content and applications are presented consistently in the format users want.

Designed for e-commerce and multi-channel marketing companies, the new Adobe Scene7 eVideo Streaming Solution is said to be ideal for producing online product demonstrations, advertising, training and more.

It will be available as part of Scene7 Enterprise Unlimited Edition or as an add-on module to the standard Scene7 Enterprise Edition.

“Internet video is a crucial marketing tool and Adobe Flash technology has become the number one platform for video on the Web with over 80 percent market share worldwide,” said Doug Mack, vice president of consumer and hosted solutions at Adobe. “Adobe Scene7 eVideo Streaming simplifies the entire hosted video publishing and streaming workflow so that any company can publish this content using a single centralised service.”

The Adobe Scene7 eVideo Streaming Solution features a browser-based user interface designed to be simple enough for even non-technical video publishers, so that companies that lack in-house expertise can still meet the growing customer demands for online video, the company claimed.

In addition, Adobe Scene7 eVideo Streaming enables users to cost-effectively upload videos in the most popular formats and automatically transcode them to open formats compatible with the Flash Player (FLV, F4V) for delivery to any channel.
