Affiliated Computer Services has announced plans to purchase UK-based Anix for £31.5m ($50m) in cash to strengthen its information technology delivery platform in the UK and expand its position in the global market.
Anix, subsidiary of UK IT group Xploite, provides IT services and infrastructure solutions, delivering hosted and remote managed services to commercial and public sector clients. Anix has operations in Bristol, London and Manchester, and data centres in London and Manchester.
Derrell James, executive vice president and group president of ACS IT outsourcing solutions, said: “We continue to see significant opportunity for IT outsourcing solutions in the UK. This acquisition reinforces our commitment to grow our business in the UK and continental Europe and provide our clients with IT services and solutions on a worldwide scale.”
Ian Smith, chief executive officer of Xploite, said: “Both Anix and ACS have a shared objective of providing insightful IT solutions and expertise to their clients. By combining with ACS, Anix clients will be backed by a fortune 500 company with global delivery capabilities and an extensive, complementary suite of ITO services.”
For its fiscal year ending October 31, 2008, Anix reported revenues of approximately £44.7m ($71m).
Over the last 18 months, ACS has expanded its European ITO presence with the acquisitions of Syan Holdings in the UK and sds business services in Germany.
