Acer has introduced a new line up of server products, updating the specifications to support the Intel Xeon processors E5 family.
Acer has also expanded its business portfolio and management tools in a bid to provide flexibility in modern datacentres.
The F2 servers feature Intel’s line up of Xeon processor E5 family of CPUs, which give up to two times the performance for certain benchmarks, and up to 8 cores per CPU.
The new generation of servers from Acer offer the same set of standard management tools, Smart Setup, Smart Console, Smart Server Manager and Smart Integration Pack and enhance the toolset with features as remote BIOS/firmware updates and power monitoring.
Acer has integrated a power management tool kit as an add-on expansion for its own Smart Server Manager to ensure the F2 line functions in the data centre as it does in a standard small or medium-sized business.
Acer Enterprise Product Business Unit associate vice-president Evis Lin said the new F2 line of server products represent Acer’s striving to provide enhanced applications for the modern business, enterprise and datacentre.
