AboveNet has reported total revenue of $100.7m for the second quarter of 2010, an increase of 14.4% compared to $88.0m for the same period last year.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2010, the company posted an operating income of $28.4m, an increase of 21.9% compared to $22.3m of the same period a year ago.

The company reported a net income of $16.3m or $0.62 per diluted share, as compared to $24.6m or $0.97 per diluted share for the second quarter of 2009.

EBITDA for the second quarter of 2010 was $45.7m, compared to $38.5m for the second quarter of 2009. Adjusted EBITDA Margin for the second quarter of 2010 was 45.4%, compared to 43.8% of the same period a year ago.

Bill LaPerch, chief executive officer of AboveNet, said: "We had a great second quarter. Our results demonstrate strong execution across the organisation, and we maintained our impressive revenue growth rate and Adjusted EBITDA Margin.

"Customer spending on high-bandwidth connectivity that began to recover in the first quarter carried over in the second quarter. Assuming stable economic conditions in the second half of the year, we believe demand for our scalable, high-speed, low-latency network connectivity services will remain strong."
