UK reseller Computer Solutions and Finance Group has won an exclusive contract to host Oracle Corp’s interactive satellite-based training network, The Oracle Channel, in the Greater London area. The Oracle Channel provides interactive training on all Oracle products by linking up with Oracle experts all over the world. Computer Solutions has a central London-based auditorium equipped with personal computers with specially designed keyboards fitted with a microphone, so course attendees can interact with the trainer both through the keyboard and by voice. The service is now up and live, and the company believes it will significantly reduce training costs. Computer Solutions claims it is pioneering a new age in a new channel model. In addition to selling hardware and software, the company offers a full range of integration services, help desk support, remote systems management, disaster recovery facilities and training, as well as hardware leasing and finance. The privately-owned company has five offices throughout the UK, 180 staff, more than 1,000 customers, turned over 55m pounds last year up from 42m pounds the previous year, and expects revenue of 75m pounds this year. In addition to Oracle it is a reseller for Digital Equipment Corp, Microsoft Corp, Compaq Computer Corp, Computer Associates Inc, Cisco Systems Inc, and JD Edwards & Co.
