Computer Associates International Inc, Garden City, New York has completed the acquisition of Cullinet Software Inc and will run it as a wholly-owned subsidiary: the company says it plans to support and enhance the products CA-IDMS/DB, CA-ADS, CA-Datacom/DB, and CA-Ideal products, extend them with SQL-based relational processing and distributed processing integrated with existing functionality, make them available on multiple hardware types and under multiple operating systems with compatible operation and performance tuned to each, open the systems to support other relational databases such as IBM’s DB2 and DEC Rdb, and integrate the database and development systems into one comprehensive architecture.
