Computer 2000 GmbH, the Munich-based distributor of personal computer software, hardware, and peripherals, has reported what it describes as above average half-year results. The company recently bought 49% of Basingstoke-based Frontline Distribution, and excluding Frontline’s contribution, sales in the first half were up by 79% to the equivalent of $128m. Profit before tax for same period was around $17.7m, which was the figure reported for the whole of the preceding year. Computer 2000 has several foreign subsidiaries, and says that Switz-erland and Austria performed well, while younger operations in Spain and Belgium showed promising results. Total group turnover for the current financial year is forecast at $350m to $400m, a big jump from last year’s figure of $154m.
