Germany’s Computer 2000 AG has finally completed its expansion into the central and east European states with the acquisition of a 55% stake in local communications and network product wholesalers, Expert and Partners sro. Expert and Partners has been operating out of Prague since its foundation in 1991. Last year the company turned over $15m and opened a distribution outlet in Bratislava, Slovakia. Computer 2000 initially envisaged taking over the giant Compaq Computer Corp dealership, TH’Systems – also based in Prague, but talks collapsed at the end of last year. Computer 2000 estimates there are 1,000 personal computer hardware and software resellers in the Czech and Slovak Republic combined – sharing a market that International Data Corp estimates will value around $180m this year.
