ZTE Health, a member of the worldwide ZTE Group, has signed Memorandums of Understanding with the Netherlands Organisation for applied scientific research (TNO) and the Economic Development Board of Almere (EDBA).
The move will see the telecommunications systems provider cooperating with TNO and EDBA to establish a cloud-based health platform.
They will collaborate in eHealth and work to create a ‘smart city’ using digital technology to provide improvements in healthcare for the residents of Almere and the metropolitan area of Amsterdam.
"We are delighted to start a cooperation and bridge cultures on a mutual important topic like healthcare and jointly manage and improve the ever-growing cost of services in both European and Chinese markets," commented He Shiyou, President of ZTE Health and Executive Vice President of ZTE Corporation.
He added: "Our mission is to use the advantages of information technology and cloud service to increase the efficiency of the healthcare industry and meet the high level and personalised requirements of mass consumers. We make use of the Dutch and the Chinese context by combining the best of information and healthcare technologies with the spirit of Chinese medicine. This is a fully new approach which will lead to the enhancement of the quality of life for all residents."
The new platform will merge with the existing platform used in the Almere Health Lab and will consist of a comprehensive range of healthcare and preventive services, a big data platform and terminal devices.
