Wyse Technology, a provider of cloud client services, has launched T50 thin client, which provides Web, Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware VDI user experience, through an user interface.

The new thin client also provides multimedia and management capabilities. It is powered by Wyse-enhanced Linux, delivering an user interface and a ‘plug and display’ start-up of less than 20 seconds.

The ENERGY STAR Version 5.0, and EPEAT-compliant T50 thin client also creates an user experience displaying vibrant multimedia and Flash in VDI and the local browser.

The T50 thin client eliminates the need for manual utilities and wizards. It allows users to have the DVI-I display option to connect to two monitors for optimum viewing versatility. In addition, the thin client includes advanced networking capabilities, with gigabit Ethernet and optional integrated B/G/N Wi-Fi.

T50 also supports the RDP7 protocol and offers such advanced features as Wyse Collaborative Processing Architecture media redirection and bitmap compression.

Wyse T50 is powered by the Marvell ARMADA PXA 510 application processor, an ARMv7 CPU running at 1GHz frequency, delivering a 150% performance improvement compared to previous ARM based designs, the company said.

Further, the Wyse-enhanced Linux firmware is verified Citrix Ready for Citrix Receiver with HDX, and features certification with VMware View Open Client, and support for Wyse TCX and VDA.

Wyse Technology product management senior director Param Desai said performance on a budget is a key theme for companies deploying virtual desktops for task users in business today.

"We’ve delivered greater value for this level of performance and capability, enabling more companies to take advantage of the business benefits of desktop virtualisation," Desai said.
