WebLayers has entered into a formal software delivery partnership with cloud services provider CloudOne.
The agreement is expected to give enterprises the ability to leverage a combination of WebLayers’ SOA and application development governance technology with CloudOne’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery of IBM Rational tools.
The agreement means that a pre-configured version of WebLayers technology will be accessible from within Vortex from CloudOne, a planning, work management, dashboard and team communication service based on IBM’s Rational Team Concert.
The WebLayers component will include service-oriented architecture (SOA) and Java policy libraries, along with WebLayers’ Policy Manager and Conformance Center to ensure policy adherence.
CloudOne CEO John McDonald said their goal with Vortex is to make planning, work management, reporting and communication inexpensive and easy. WebLayers’ technology aligns perfectly with their mission of increased cost-efficiency and code quality for software development.
The agreement also means that CloudOne will be joining the WebLayers partner network.
WebLayers president and CEO Jeff Papows said he is confident that this collaboration will lead to client engagements that are mutually beneficial and, most importantly, will deliver high customer satisfaction ratings for improving software development.
