Colocation, hosting, and managed services provider ViaWest has selected HP 3PAR Utility Storage, based on HP Converged Infrastructure, to stay ahead of competition as a cloud services provider.
HP 3PAR Utility Storage supports ViaWest’s KINECTed Storage offering a new managed cloud-storage service for customers seeking more efficient data centre strategies.
ViaWest is able to launch its new service, offer customers storage functionalities through a cost-effective, cloud computing model by upgrading to HP 3PAR storage and HP ProLiant DL360 G7 servers.
The combination of HP storage and server offerings created a single platform that enables ViaWest to manage its own data centre while providing secure, real-time data management capabilities without interrupting its clients’ daily workflows.
ViaWest’s KINECTed is powered by HP 3PAR Utility and HP 3PAR systems help KINECTed customers’ to increase return on investment by minimising system downtime and IT administration requirements.
With HP 3PAR Thin Provisioning Software, customers are provided with cost savings, flexibility to scale storage up or down on an automated basis to meet future data requirements while only paying for the capacity they need.
ViaWest Product Management vice-president Jim Thompson said at a time when exponential data growth is placing unrealistic demands on ViaWest’s clients’ legacy systems, tighter IT budgets have prevented companies from investing in the latest storage offering functionalities.
