Hilton in the Community Foundation has implemented Heroix, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) online event fundraising platform from Blackbaud, a nonprofit software and services provider.
It is hoped that the solution will enable to hotel brand to grow the success of its fundraising initiatives across Europe.
Hilton in the Community Foundation (HCF) has been established for 14 years and has raised more than £14m through fundraising initiatives run by team members of its corporate partner, Hilton Worldwide, across Europe.
Organisers decided last year that it needed a better online fundraising platform so each supporter could have their own individual event page and bespoke website address.
"Blackbaud Heroix offered more cost effective flexibility and control than our previous online giving platforms, which often felt like people were not aware of the fact it was HCF doing the fundraising and how our supporters fit together," said HCF’s Fundraising Events Executive, Samiya Rashid. "Individuals now set up their own branded and bespoke giving page, which makes it easier to see how much each centre or event has raised and introduces a fun element of competition."
In addition to ongoing hotel fundraising, HCF runs a large number of fundraising events each year. These include Around the World in a Day and the Mayfair Power and Tower Race, where individual runners run 4.5km around Hyde Park before climbing the 28 floors at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
All money raised via HCF is used to support children and young people up to the age of 25, with core giving remits being education and health. Fifty per cent of money raised goes to charities nominated by individual hotels and 50 per cent goes to organisations that have applied for a HCF grant centrally.
In addition to providing the online giving platform for each individual hotel, the Blackbaud Heroix team also designed an easily accessible central giving hub, so all staff and event participants are able to find their hotel or event. Participants can also see at a glance how they are doing compared to other hotels.
Blackbaud Europe’s GM, Peer-to-Peer, John Bird, said: "Heroix is a powerful and effective tool for corporate giving initiatives such as this, providing complete control over branding and superior functionality for organisers and donors.
"HCF is a wonderful charity that raises lots of money and the Mayfair Power and Tower race is becoming a firm fixture in London’s fundraising calendar and we are delighted that Heroix will play a part it its on-going success."
Heroix is marketed as a fully mobile-optimised and socially savvy platform with a range of features including the emailing of supporters and the sending of updates via social media. It is designed to make it easy for fundraisers to connect with supporters and for raising money as part of a team, using individual, fully-branded fundraising pages.
Blackbaud works with more than 30,000 customers in more than 60 countries that support higher education, healthcare, human services, arts and culture, faith, the environment, independent K-12 education, animal welfare and other charitable causes.
