Virtustream is expanding its partnership with SAP, which will see it provide infrastructure services for business applications in the HANA Enterprise Cloud.

This means that customers will be able to deploy SAP software via the HANA Enterprise Cloud with Virtustream’s flexible cloud environments.

The service will use Virtustream’s xStream Cloud Management Platform, along with its Micro-VM technology, to deliver an IaaS with service level agreements that cover application performance.

Customers will be able to schedule and perform advanced management and orchestration tasks across the SAP software-based enterprise landscape.

With the growth of its HANA Enterprise Cloud, the expansion of the relationship between the two companies appears to be a natural progression.

Security is clearly an important focus of the expanded partnership. Support for U.S. Federal customers with FedRAMP compliant services, SAP National Security Services already has a strategic partnership with Virtustream.

Rodney Rogers, CEO, Virtustream, said: "Virtustream’s ability to deliver high-security, end-to-end compliance and strong data-protection capabilities satisfies SAP’s stringent certification requirements for storing data and running mission-critical applications in conjunction with SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud."

"Now, as part of the EMC Federation, our company has an expanded global reach that will allow us to deliver some of the largest, most secure and flexible cloud environments to date for SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud."
