German ERP software firm SAP has reported 26% growth in the second quarter revenue in 2012 to €1.06bn when compared to €840m in the same quarter previous year.
The growth was primarily due to the continuing cloud momentum driven by synergies between SuccessFactors and SAP, in addition strong growth of its SAP HANA and the database business.
SAP co-CEOs Bill McDermott and Jim Hagemann Snabe said in a joint statement that the company delivered double-digit growth in all regions driven by strong momentum from the core as well as SAP HANA, mobile and the cloud.
"The results came in at the upper end of our second quarter software revenue guidance in an uncertain macro-economic environment," the co-CEOs said.
Software and software-related service revenue posted a 21% growth to €3.12bn in Q2 2012, compared with €2.58bn in corresponding quarter last year.
The company has posted operating profit of €920m in the second quarter in 2012, an increase of 7% when compared to €860m in Q2 2011.
Non-IFRS software and software-related service revenue was €3.14bn in the second quarter, an increase of 21% compared to €2.59bn in the same quarter previous year.
The company’s non-IFRS operating profit increased 15% to €1.17b in the quarter when compared to €1.02bn in the corresponding last year.
Severance expenses which amounted to €31m and the acquisition of SuccessFactors impacted non-IFRS operating profit, according to the company.
