SAP has launched the service as a way to help businesses to integrate blockchain with existing business processes. The company cites use cases such as IoT device validation in a product line.
The launch of the product means that developers will be able to start building blockchain extensions for existing apps, while the company also has plans to extend the reach of this service to other products.

SAP’s announcement came amid a raft of news coming out of the Sapphire event, with plenty of cloud updates coming from the company and a partnership with Deloitte.
The deal with Deloitte will see the consulting company develop digital offerings that will be powered by SAP Leonardo. The two will also work on creating micro services that will focus on tech areas such as machine learning, IoT, and analytics.
Jim Moffatt, Deloitte managing partner, global consulting, said: “By working together to invent digital solutions that address tomorrow’s finance and supply chain needs, SAP will gain Deloitte Consulting’s in-depth business process knowledge and understanding of how organizations will use technologies in the future. In turn, we are gaining from SAP deeper insights into the art of the possible with the power of SAP Leonardo and upcoming enhancements to SAP S/4HANA.”
