Open source applications provider, Red Hat has signed an agreement to acquire enterprise cloud management and automation applications provider ManageIQ, for $104m in cash.
The deal, however, must be approved by stockholders of ManageIQ before closing.
ManageIQ will enable organisations to deploy and manage private clouds, virtualised infrastructures and desktops.
With the addition of ManageIQ, Red Hat’s open hybrid cloud management applications will also include: Red Hat CloudForms, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and ManageIQ’s Hybrid Cloud Operations Management Tools.
ManageIQ’s Cloud Operations Management Tools include monitoring, virtual management capabilities, and cloud infrastructures such as Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and VMware.
By providing integrated lifecycle management of activities, ManageIQ’s Hybrid Cloud Operations Management technologies willomplement Red Hat’s existing cloud and virtualization management tools.
