Rackspace is expanding its service offering for its Microsoft product portfolio.
The Fanatical Support for Microsoft Azure means that customers will be able to speed up their deployments of Azure with Rackspace, providing application and infrastructure architecture guidance.
The two companies which have been working together since around 2002, are also targeting hybrid cloud solutions which will combine Rackspace’s Private Cloud that will be powered by Microsoft’s cloud platform Azure.
Rackspace will work with customers in order to incorporate Azure technologies and provide managed services for every hour and day of the year. The purpose of this is to allow customers to focus on their core business by offloading the management of their environments.
The company will also provide architectural guidance, proactive monitoring and database support.
There are around 84 different components inside Azure which the company will support, including virtual machines, SQL Server and SQL Azure.
Speaking to CBR, Rackspace said it was necessary to find the balance between how much software was custom written, how much was used from Microsoft and how much from Rackspace. The decision was made to utilise as much as Rackspace’s systems as the expectation is that a lot of customers will be both Microsoft and Rackspace users.
