Oracle has been a busy company this week during its OpenWorld event in San Franciso. Big Red has pushed out a number of enhancements to its product portfolio and added new features.

Oracle’s main motivation behind the new products is to rival AWS and to make itself a viable competitor in the public cloud market.

CBR keeps you up to date with the biggest developments from the second and third days of the conference.

1. Cloud Infrastructure Services

The big talk came from Oracle President Thomas Kurian’s keynote, in which he revealed updates to Oracle’s infrastructure services that included; elastic compute and storage to run any enterprise application in the cloud.

The IaaS services also included Container Cloud, as the company looks to make it easier to quickly deploy applications in its cloud.

Elastic Compute, is a service that AWS has had for a number of years, meaning that Oracle’s version will be in direct competition.

2. Cloud Platform for Big Data

Stepping up its Big Data operations the company is offering a raft of services to accelerate time-to-insight.

The services include; data preparation, GoldenGate cloud service, data discovery and NoSQL database cloud service.

The GoldenGate service is designed to enable high volume and low-latency data movement into Big Data Lake and Data Warehouse services.

3. Marketing Cloud

Enhancements to its marketing cloud include offline data append, which allows marketers to use Oracle Datalogix in order to enrich digital customer profiles.

Match multiplier is aimed at helping to pool the ability to connect users across offline and online channels; it also enables the delivery of anonymous, relevant cross-channel messages.

The final update is business units for content marketing. This provides a centralised view of content marketing assets, calendar and analytics.

4. Management Cloud

This is a suite of integrated monitoring, management and analytics solutions for IT organisations. The service is designed to enable real-time collaboration for DevOps, line-of-business managers and business analytics.

It includes application performance monitoring, log analytics and IT analytics, all as cloud services.

IT analytics is designed to provide a 360-degree insight into performance, availability and capacity of applications and IT investments.

5. CX Cloud
