Oracle has introduced new range of Sun x86 servers which are based on Intel Xeon E5 processors which it claims best platform to run its software and other applications.

The new Sun x86 servers offers improved performance and reliability for applications and databases, the company said.

According the company the servers are equipped with tools needed for cloud-enabled deployments including operating system, virtualization, infrastructure provisioning, and system management at free of cost when combined with Oracle Premier Support services.

Sun x86 servers are integrated with Oracle Solaris or Oracle Linux, Oracle VM and Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center to help reduce costs, streamline data centre operations.

The new servers deliver up to 87% better computational performance and feature increased memory and network bandwidth compared to previous generation servers.

Oracle’s Sun x86 servers running Oracle Linux and Oracle Solaris with Oracle VM can deliver up to 50% lower total acquisition, support and operating costs compared to similar system.

The new servers have set multiple world record benchmarks, demonstrating enhanced performance on computational, application and enterprise workloads, including new world records on SPEC CPU2006, SPECjEnterprise2010, and Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1.3.
