Oracle has introduced Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software 2.0, an engineered system to provide better performance, reliability and scalability for Oracle, Java and other applications

The new engineered system eliminates application and middleware deployment risk through automated deployment of complex, multi-tier business applications.

Oracle Exalogic supports virtualisation of critical business applications with near native performance vs. physical servers through Oracle VM integration.

The new release delivers up to ten times better performance for Oracle Applications, Java-based applications and other business applications and up to six times faster application provisioning.

Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software provides a high-speed communication (I/O) fabric, Oracle Exabus, ties every Oracle Exalogic system component together and delivers elasticity at the application level through integrated application-to-disk management with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c.

The new Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software supports consolidation of multiple applications on the same system as a private cloud, while eliminating security risks through complete application isolation.

It also integrates Oracle Traffic Director, a built-in Application Delivery Controller, to securely manage and route application traffic with high performance.

Oracle Exalogic is optimised to run the standards-based Oracle Fusion Middleware product portfolio, including Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Coherence, Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Tuxedo products.

The new engineered system leverages Oracle Exadata Database Machine and integrates with Oracle Database and Oracle Real Application Clusters.

Oracle Fusion Middleware and Java Products senior vice president Hasan Rizvi said, "Built on open, industry standards, Oracle Exalogic can support consolidation of hundreds of Java and non-Java applications and delivers lower total cost of ownership by supporting more transactions on less hardware and software with ease of management."
