Nokia has launched the AirFrame Data Center Solution, a localised solution designed to help telcos move operations to the Cloud.
The 5G-ready solution uses data centre technology from Intel to address the latency and processing power requirements of telcos implementing a comprehensive telco cloud architecture. Mobile operators can spread data centre functions across their networks to allow customer data to be handled locally.
According to Nokia, AirFrame contains pre-integrated racks with dense servers, high-performance switches and software-defined storage. It also comes with professional services provided by the company’s services experts.
It is able to run the most common IT cloud applications in parallel to the telco cloud. Nokia also claims that operators could use the solution to expand into new areas of operation, such as offering data centre capacity for customers’ IT applications.
The solution is available now.
