Microsoft bought application management service provider BlueStripe Software, to integrate its technology into Microsoft’s System Centre and Operations Management Suite (OMS).

BlueStripe’s solutions are designed to map, monitor and troubleshoot applications that are distributed across multiple data centres, cloud environments and heterogeneous operating systems.

According to Microsoft, customers use BlueStripe to extend the value of Microsoft System Center by adding application-aware infrastructure performance monitoring.

The technology also helps discovers and map applications and dependencies, pinpoints problems for faster resolution, and helps maintain SLAs across complex underlying infrastructure.

BlueStripe also helps with updating applications advanced platforms.

BlueStripe Co-Founders said: "The need for real-time accurate visibility into the structure and performance of applications has increased greatly, requiring visibility across the Data Center and in the Cloud.

"Our customers needed to manage increasingly complex environments incorporating different operating systems, multiple locations, all while increasing their use of the Cloud.

"We are proud to have delivered the best Hybrid Cloud management solution in the industry incorporating Discovery, Mapping, and Monitoring together in one tool."

Microsoft said that it will discontinue selling the BlueStripe solutions but it will offer support to the existing customers.
