The Silk product portfolio offers fully integrated framework to improve productivity, traceability and visibility for all types of software testing and the new releases will enable software development teams to align standard and mobile application testing efforts.

Development teams can catch and drive out defects earlier in the development lifecycle by combining the real-time visibility and collaboration capabilities of Silk Central’s new dashboard with Silk Performer’s extended support for Web and native application testing.

Silk Central is an open, test management application for both agile and traditional development projects that improves productivity, control and visibility for all types of software testing.

It also includes a personal dashboard which will provide users with a customisable, collaborative UI that serves as the jumping off point for testers and test managers.

The open, test management application offers a manual execution planning approach that assists in selection, distribution, and execution of manual tests while the enhanced manual test execution features give test managers and testers a way to track and execute manual tests.

It also includes an extended browser support for Google Chrome gives users a broad choice in browser types.

Silk Performer uses Borland’s load, performance and stress testing, for on-premise, mobile, and cloud applications to extend web 2.0, mobile testing and cloud capabilities.

The application also offers an added support for Java, Java over HTTP, Silverlight and Flex/AMF3 further increasing breadth and depth of web technology for the cloud.

Silk Performer offers improved usability and now supports performance testing of mobile Web and native applications with profiles for popular mobile devices and application types.
