Memset is developing an OpenStack for Government hosting that will be available through G-Cloud 7.
The company has developed this in order to comply with the government’s open standards policy, and to appeal to an expected surge in demand for open source hosting.
The government specifies that open standards must be considered when specifying technology requirements.
The development from Memset is currently being tested for deployment with some central government departments, and will be available via both Internet and PSN.
Those customers that purchase OpenStack for Government services from Memset, will be located on physical and virtual networking and host resources dedicated to government users.
This creates a Government Community Cloud model.
It has been developed in conjunction with a central government department that had high security requirements. Memset has also developed systems for securing APIs and guest OSes.
