The Linux Foundation is welcoming three new members to its ranks, as the organisation continues to grow Linux and collaborative development.
MariaDB, CloudLinux and Solace Systems have all joined the organisation to promote, protect and advance Linux. The foundation is seeing success in the market as it dominates most of today’s IT infrastructure.
MariaDB, which provides open source database solutions for SaaS in addition to cloud and on-premise applications, will be a big boost to the foundation.
Roger Levy, VP, Product Management, MariaDB, said: "The drive for increased innovation, massive scalability and high availability at a lower total cost of ownership is driving increased use of open source."
CloudLinux aims to increase server density and security, its product Kernelcare product is designed to allow kernel updates to Linux operating systems, without the need to reboot.
Solace Systems, a messaging middleware designer works by allowing messaging data to move between distributed appliances, devices and users.
The company will be expanding its involvement with the foundation through participation in the OpenMAMA project. The project provides a messaging API that interfaces with a variety of message-oriented middleware systems.
