Lenovo has introduced a new touch-optimised family of four convertible devices to run on Windows 8/RT: IdeaPad Yoga 13, Yoga 11, IdeaTab Lynx and ThinkPad Twist, which can function as laptops as well as tablets
The IdeaPad Yoga hold a a hinge that allows the tablet to move 360° and fold from laptop to tablet in one motion.
Yoga 13 comes equipped with a 3rd generation Intel Core processors, 16.9 mm frame, eight hours of battery life and runs Windows 8. It also features 13.3-inch high definition IPS display and Dolby Home Theatre.
Users can now gesture to flip through photos and other content with Yoga 13’s special Motion Control technology or simply use their fingers on the multi-touch screen.
Lenovo senior vice president and Product Group president Peter Hortensius said thenew Ultrabook convertibles addresses the needs of consumers, businesses and everyone in between by creating high performance laptop-tablet combinations in new designs and different sizes.
"We think these innovative convertibles are the best devices for a groundbreaking touchscreen experience, plus their multi-modes give people even more ways to use their PC," Hortensius said.
IdeaPad Yoga 11 is a measures 11.6-inch tablet that measures15.6 mm and offers 13 hour battery life, making it convertible for mobility.
The new tablet comes equipped with NVIDIA Tegra 3, the quad-core processor for Windows RT – Yoga 11.
Both Yoga 13 and 11 can be converted into a stand by flipping the keyboard behind the screen to watch movies or view pictures up close, or bend them upright like a Tent to bring games or video chats to life.
IdeaTab Lynx is a 11.6-inch Windows 8-based tablet with the new dual core Intel Atom processor. It offers a 16 hours of battery life (with optional base) and features Dolby Home Theatre.
With the new tablet, users can interact with a different Windows 8 apps via its multi-touch screen when on the go or they can connect it to its keyboard for a full-function PC experience that includes writing documents in Microsoft Word, creating presentations in PowerPoint and building spreadsheets in Excel.
The 12.5-in ThinkPad Twist gives professionals the technologies they need for both their business and personal computing. It features a 350nit IPS display, Twist’s mini-HDMI or DisplayPort jack and Dolby Home Theatre audio.
It comes equipped with up to 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processors, up to Windows 8 Pro, optional 3G3, large storage up to 500 GB or 128 GB SSD and the ThinkPad-brand’s keyboard and quality and reliability features.
It also includes dedicated software tools designed for small business including Lenovo Solutions for Small Business powered by Intel Small Business Advantage and Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync.
Like Yoga, Twist can convert into new modes like Stand, a position for work collaboration via the multi-touch screen.
