Juniper Networks has unveiled new Junos software, silicon, systems and partnerships, which it claims to propel new network for enterprise and service provider customers.

According to Juniper, the new open cross-network software platform Junos software allows customers to program multiple layers of networks. It includes the Junos network operating system, space network application platform and pulse integrated network client, all built with core design principles, integration approach and development discipline.

The company said that the Junos-based silicon and systems includes a Junos One family of processors, including the Junos Trio chipset with 3D Scaling technology that enables networks to support subscribers, services and bandwidth at the same time. The Junos Trio will be delivered in new modular line cards and 3.5-inch routers for its MX Series, providing throughput up to 2.6TB per second.

Juniper has also unveiled new cloud networking and security offerings based on Junos software platform and Juniper systems, built upon its data centre network architecture that allows customers to share and secure infrastructures while delivering and accessing cloud-based services.

Under Junos-based partnerships, the company has entered into go-to-market partnerships with Dell and IBM. It also unveiled Junos software licensing partnership with Blade Network Technologies, to develop blade switches based on the Junos operating system.

In addition, the company has also announced partners who have built or are building applications based on Junos software, including Active Broadband Networks, Ankeena Networks, Harris Stratex, Packet Design, Q1 Labs, Telchemy, Telecom Italia and Triveni Digital.

Kevin Johnson, CEO of Juniper, said: “Driven by our mission to connect everything and empower everyone, Juniper believes it’s time for a new approach to networking. An approach based on smart systems and open software platforms. An approach that adapts to changing business dynamics. An approach that embraces partnership and unleashes innovation.”
