Juniper Networks has introduced Universal WAN offering that provides new levels of business agility with a flexible and scalable enterprise.
The Universal WAN complements the increase in data centre performance and business agility driven by its new QFabric architecture with improvements in the WAN, including data centre-to-data centre connectivity, said the company.
The new offering is composed of additions to the MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routing portfolio, including the compact MX5, MX10 and MX40 and configuration updates to the SRX Series Services Gateways, said the company.
Juniper said that the complete offering is powered by Junos, a single, proven operating system with consistent update releases that further increase manageability, operational simplicity and resiliency.
In addition, with the new additions, the MX Series delivers the bandwidth and throughput scalability, ranging from 20Gbps in the MX5 up to 2.6Tbps in the MX960, said the company.
The new additions to the MX Series can also scale up to the full functionality of an MX80 with a software license upgrade. The MX Series routers also supports an array of interfaces, from DS3 to 10 Gigabit Ethernet that can flexibly scale to match the changing requirements of the network.
Further, the enhanced SRX100, SRX650 and SRX200 line of Services Gateways integrate branch routing capabilities and security simultaneously. They also support up to five times the routing capacity of competing offerings.
Juniper Networks platform systems group vice-president of marketing and business strategy Mike Marcellin said the company’s Universal WAN was built to improve the economics of enterprise routing with an easy-to-deploy offering that has the flexibility to keep pace with evolving applications and traffic patterns.
"Network managers now have a offering that meets the performance needs of the network today while building in the scalability they need to be ready for tomorrow’s WAN traffic requirements," Marcellin said.
