IBM looks set to cut staff numbers at its UK Labs according to reports.
The Register reports sources saying 123 out of 900 divisional employees are expected to lose their jobs following a 45-day redundancy notice period.
The redundancies are set to impact the group of businesses previously known as Application Integration Middleware, according to sources cited by the Register.
As well as Hursley Park in Winchester, which houses cloud, retail, public sector and energy and utilities labs, IBM has Labs in Farnborough, Staines, London and Manchester.
In a statement sent to CBR, IBM said: "IBM has begun a consultation process with employee representative groups. "IBM continually remixes skills – our clients expect no less as they look to IBM to help them take advantage of innovations and new technologies. Globally IBM continues to invest in skills needed for the future."
The London Lab was opened at the firms’ Southbank premises just over a year ago, on February 20th 2015, while a software development facility in Manchester has been open since 2010.
