Chip maker Intel has delivered its Cloud SSO, company’s cloud-based Identity and Access Management-as-a-Service (IAMaaS) on Force.com, salesforce.com’s social enterprise platform.
Intel Cloud SSO will help enterprise users utilise their Salesforce credentials to access several cloud applications.
Leveraging the single sign-on (SSO) on Force.com improves the end-user convenience and increases security, while reducing the number of passwords required by providing access to applications, such as Box.com Cisco WebEx, Google Apps and Salesforce.
The IAMaaS is part of cloud security play from Intel and McAfee to provide a policy-driven layer among users, application services, and device endpoints, all centered around a model of identity-aware security.
The application features 2-factor authentication using one-time password (OTP) delivered via mobile devices, user account provisioning/de-provisioning, as well as an application portal providing secure access to a catalog of authorized cloud applications.
Intel Cloud SSO also delivers identity and access management functions in the cloud; provisions, synchronise sand de-provisions access to several cloud applications; addresses security concerns with 2-factor mobile-based authentication; and delivers reporting and auditing features to comply with regulatory requirements.
The multi-tenant application deployed on Force.com is now available via salesforce.com’s AppExchange and Intel.
In addition, cloud-based collaboration and file-sharing company Box has also joined with Intel to offer a free Enterprise trial account to users who sign up for Intel Cloud SSO.
