Cisco and IBM have announced new solutions for their joint converged infrastructure, VersaStack, to help clients accelerate their transformation to the cloud.
Various solutions have been incorporated in VersaStack to stretch the software to include hybrid cloud capabilities, as well as integrating the latest software defined technologies for storage to address cloud-scale applications.
VersaStack is a hybrid cloud solution designed to help companies reduce complexity and speed up the application delivery through automation.
It includes Cisco UCS integrated infrastructure and IBM all-flash and hybrid storage solutions built with IBM Spectrum Storage software.
The set of solutions enable IT companies to standardise and simplify delivery of services through automation of infrastructure.

The use of the VersaStack and the Cisco ONE Enterprise Cloud Suite will help organisations to improve efficiency and reduce cost as well as complexity, hence delivering a full set of storage capabilities.
Organisations will be able to deploy advanced and premier solutions for hybrid IT. A combination of Cisco CloudCenter and IBM Spectrum Copy Data Management helps in deployment, provision and management of data and applications in hybrid cloud environments.
By using the solutions, companies can enhance the manageability, recovery and storage of data. It is achieved through a combination of VersaStack and Spectrum Software Defined Storage together with Cisco UCS.
The combination of the Cisco UCS S-Series Storage Servers with IBM Cloud Object Storage will deliver an on-premises storage solution for data intensive workloads. It supports IT organisations to help prepare for business needs with an easily scalable solution.
Cisco computing systems product group senior vice president and general manager Liz Centoni said the additions to VersaStack create a suitable environment for both traditional and emerging scale-out applications, addressing customer requirements in a simplified way.
“By bringing together Cisco and IBM technologies for hybrid IT we help customers diversify their consumption models and achieve the agility and efficiency digital transformation demands.”
