IBM has brought new offerings to make enable business partners and clients to create "patterns of expertise", a new software capability, to streamline the set-up and management of hardware and software resources.
First introduced as part of IBM’s PureSystems family of integrated systems, these patterns are central to enabling and streamlining IT operations.
IBM Application and Integration Middleware general manager Marie Wieck said, "The introduction of patterns will revolutionize how applications are being developed and managed, simplifying tasks that organizations once spent months on and allowing them to refocus on innovation."
IBM has introduced a new Virtual Pattern Kit which offers practical tools for developers to test out patterns of expertise by creating applications that run on PureSystems.
Once designed, these patterns are embedded directly into the PureSystems machines to automate a wide range of manual and administrative IT tasks.
IBM noted it will also offer access to the PureSystems family to create and test patterns through the IBM SmartCloud, which will simplify data center operations.
The developers will have to develop a proof of concept in three months and the hardware will not be re-allocated to another priority effort, the company said.
IBM PureSystems comes with more than 150 applications clients can now nominate ISV patterns they prefer to see in the PureSystems Centre.
The company noted it is also rolling out various other new patterns that have been captured, lab-tested and built into PureSystems for organizations, which will help reduce the time related to the installing, configuring, tuning and managing software on an ongoing basis.
