Information and communications technology (ICT) applications provider Huawei has launched four unified storage products under the OceanStor T series banner and four high-end Tecal series servers.

The OceanStor T unified storage series will provide businesses with enhanced intelligence and simplicity in the cloud era, while the Tecal high-end servers will deliver enhanced performance and reliability, the company said.

Huawei said it has formed the structure with the "network as the basis, computing and storage as the core force, security as the safeguard and application as orientation for these products."

The new unified storage products deliver high-performance in an all-in-one application that unifies the file-level data, block-level data, storage protocol and the interface management, the company said.

OceanStor T series comprises four product models: OceanStor S2600T, OceanStor S5500T, OceanStor S5600T and OceanStor S5800 which will cater to scope of applications, including large database OLTP/OLAP, high-performance computing, digital media, Internet commerce, central storage, data backup, disaster recovery and data migration.

A T series storage system can provide massive PB-level storage capacity for various types of service data, while maintaining a simplified IT architecture, Huawei claimed.

The OceanStor T series also incorporates self-developed Smart series software (SmartMotion, SmartTier, SmartCache, SmartThin, and SmartQoS), which achieves the intelligent functions of global data relocation, dynamic storage tiering, service acceleration, data thin provisioning and service quality control.

Huwaei has extended the Tecal series by introducing 4-socket rack server, H2485 V2, 4-socket blade server, BH640 V2, (based on Intel E5-4600) and the 4-socket and 8-socket top-end servers RH5885 V2 (based on E7-4800 and E7-8800) with the fourth generation PEIe SSD card ES3000.

RH2485 V2 provides features and functions that are integrated into the manageable two U space while RH5885 V2 offers improved performance among Huawei X86 servers and implements Huawei’s technology with 35 fault-tolerant features to ensure reliability for customers’ key applications.

BH640 V2 supports Huawei E6000H shelves and runs four CPUs, providing a computing density of 5 processors per U in the blade field.
