Wipro and HPE have partnered to offer consumption-based IT infrastructure solutions or a pay-per-use business model for enterprises.

The model brings together Wipro’s vision of an industry powered by an as a Service (aaS) model. In doing so, the company will leverage HPE Flexible Capacity, which is an on-demand capacity service that delivers economics of public cloud.

The model has been designed to offer suitable IT infrastructure services in one mode to help customers build on growth while they embrace digital transformation.

Wipro and HPE’s global customers will be offered the model for IT infrastructure procurement provisioning, according to the companies.

Olivier Suniat, SVP of Global Sales, HPE said: “Businesses need an agile IT foundation that can scale up quickly to accommodate growth and power new initiatives. Our collaboration with Wipro delivers the agility and economics of a public-cloud experience with the control and performance benefits of on-premises IT.”

HPE generated revenue of $1.26bn in Q2 2016 which the company said was based on the increase in infrastructure product sales.

HPE’s consumption-based model will be combined with Wipro’s IT infrastructure services suite together with its global delivery capabilities to provide customers with the required security features to develop a steady IT infrastructure.

Speaking at HPE Discover 2017 Abidali Z. Neemuchwala, CEO & Executive director, Wipro Limited said: “This business model, an innovation in the IT infrastructure space, is a step towards enabling Wipro’s vision of an industry powered by ‘as a service model’ through variable pricing of the entire IT infrastructure value chain.”

The service will also enable customers to effectively gather the public cloud economics of their data centres.

HPE is particularly familiar with providing data centre solutions, in fact the company recently partnered with Rittal to deliver modular data centre solutions for global IoT and edge customers.

This partnership with Wipro is designed to provide wide scale IT infrastructure solutions for customers that may require such services to deploy business transformation.
