HP Enterprise Services UK signed a seven-year outsourcing services agreement worth $400m with the Centrica, a UK-based multinational utility company.

Under the agreement, HP will facilitate Centrica to move to a utility-based private cloud computing environment that will support Centrica’s change program, improve speed of deployment, and support the company’s environmental objectives.

In addition, HP will provide Utility Services that support Centrica’s migration to a private cloud- and utility-based computing environment enabling flexibility to reliably respond to changing business conditions.

Through this agreement, Centrica will have access to HP’s enterprise cloud-computing services, which will enable better data access and new products and services for its customers.

HP will provide these services from two of its data centres in the UK.

HP enterprise services EMEA senior vice president and general manager Mike Nefkens said the combination of company’s technology and services such as cloud computing helps them create the innovative, integrated, end-to-end offerings customers like Centrica need to more effectively and efficiently achieve market, cost and environmental objectives.
