FreeAgent, a UK-based online accounting software provider, has teamed up with online payment system provider, Stripe, to give customers in the US an easier way to get paid by their clients, aiming to help businesses manage their cash flow more effectively.
This partnership between FreeAgent and Stripe will enable freelancers and micro businesses in the United States to set up online payments for their invoices, allowing their clients to pay them more easily and quickly without having to set up a specific merchant account to handle the transaction.
The Stripe integration will form a key component of FreeAgent’s growing payment portal, which provides payment options to its US and UK customers in partnership with other online payment providers.
FreeAgent’s existing users will be able to benefit from this new payment tool. They will be able to collect online invoice payments from their customers, who can pay directly from their bank accounts without incurring expensive service charges for making payments. Stripe will charge a processing fee of $0.30 and 2.9% of the invoice total.
Ed Molyneux, CEO and co-founder of FreeAgent, commented on the new partnership and payment tool: "We’re thrilled to be working with Stripe. They’re a really innovative company and pioneers in the online payment space, so they’re the perfect partner for us as we continue to develop our FreeAgent America product to make it the most intuitive cloud accounting system for freelancers and small businesses".
