Application delivery detworking firm F5 Networks has introduced new dynamic services to help organisations respond to DNS queries and application requests, consolidate infrastructure and provide protection to DNS systems.
The new services will enable customers to reduce internal and in-network response latency by up to 80%, scale their systems up to ten times with demand growth and provide advanced DNS security for physical, virtual and cloud environments.
F5 BIG-IP applications can manage and distribute DNS and application requests based on business policies, access demands, and network conditions, resulting an optimised experience for users as well as IT personnel.
As a part of the new DNS services, the company is introducing new capabilities, including DNS caching and resolving, DNSSEC validation, monitoring, and other performance enhancements.
The new services include F5’s BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager product that scales DNS capabilities up to ten times as an authoritative DNS server, increasing query response rates for maximum uptime.
F5’s DNS iRules technology provides organisations with customisable control over how specific DNS requests are handled, giving customers the ability to focus on their critical needs.
The new applications also provide protection for DNS and applications with built in safeguards to handle high volumes of DNS requests and shield systems from threats like DDoS attacks.
IT teams can now reduce the number of DNS servers required to support their systems, consolidating deployments and cutting costs.
F5 Networks Core and Traffic Management vice-president Jason Needham said, "With F5, customers enjoy a complete global DNS and application delivery solution with the intelligence to enhance the security, performance, and availability of their essential DNS services."
