Eurostar has adopted Box’s cloud collaboration tool as it seeks to roll out mobile access to content to its 1,600 employees.

The announcement follows a troubled weekend for the European rail firm, followed by further disruptions on Monday after a fire started next to the track.

Antoine de Kerviler, CIO at Eurostar, said: "Box provides us with a smooth, unified, way of accessing content and a brilliant collaboration platform for our disparate workforce.

"Box has helped us to transform the way we access information and fundamentally change the way we work across projects."

According to Box’s EMEA SVP David Quantrell his firm has seen increased use of its tools in Europe of late, coinciding with growing interest in remote access to company files and "bring your own device" (BYOD) culture in which employees work on their own tablets and phones.

"Box helps enable secure content sharing, collaboration and mobility with robust admin controls to securely run an essential service connecting the UK with the rest of the Continent," he added.
