Equinix and Oracle have confirmed availability of the direct, private access to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure via Equinix’s Cloud Exchange.
Following on from previous collaborations between Equinix and Oracle, the two have come together once again to now offer this direct access to Oracle’s full suite of cloud services.
With the rise of cloud deployment in enterprise, many customers with large database workloads still lack ways to migrate data and applications from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud.
However, Equinix delivers its Cloud Exchange and API integration with FastConnect to enable customers to establish direct connectivity between their on-premises infrastructure and Oracle Cloud environments.
This allows customers to recognise the benefits of hybrid cloud, whilst moving application, middleware and database workloads between the two platforms as they receive a reliable, low latency and production-ready experience.

In 2016, BT became the first global network services provider to offer a direct access to Oracle’s Cloud platform.
Now Equinix is to deliver the offering to customers either seeking a broad interconnection strategy or one to migrate data-heavy applications to the cloud.
The access will initially be made available via Oracle’s Cloud Network Service, FastConnect in Equinix’s Washington IBX data centre and is expected to reach its 21 global markets throughout the year.
