Electric Cloud, a provider of software production management (SPM) offerings, has expanded its ElectricAccelerator to include Electrify, a feature that provides parallel processing for any software production task, and subbuild technology that helps developers to avoid unnecessary builds altogether.

The company claims that the new enhanced offering allows developers to use parallel processing to improve the performance of software production tools and tasks. It now supports build tools such as MSBuild, SCons and homegrown systems and facilitates developers in doing tasks like parallel testing or data modeling, in a private cloud or on a dedicated server.

Electric Cloud said that the ElectricAccelerator 5.0’s virtualisation capabilities permit zero-configuration support and eases supporting of multiple configurations. In addition, it also adds subbuilds and automatically reduces a build to the smallest subset of changes.

Mike Maciag, CEO of Electric Cloud, said: Our goal is to remove the bottlenecks in software production wherever they exist. ElectricAccelerator speeds Make, Nmake, Visual Studio and Ant builds by 10-20x. With Electrify we are broadening the technology to enable these benefits for virtually any compute-intensive development task.
