Web offerings provider Ektron has introduced its Windows Azure Edition which allows companies to deploy new websites and marketing campaigns through the Microsoft Windows Azure platform.
Windows Azure is an internet-scale cloud services platform hosted through Microsoft data centres, and it includes a set of rich developer services, and helps businesses automate their IT infrastructure through a platform designed for high availability and dynamic scaling to match usage needs.
Ektron Windows Azure Edition includes a new cloud-ready version of Ektron eSync enhanced with native support for Windows Azure, bringing its unique bi-directional content replication and differential deployment capabilities to the cloud.
With Ektron Azure Edition, users can achieve marketing agility which empowers marketing teams to deploy new Ektron sites and marketing campaigns on-the-fly without IT involvement.
Meanwhile, customers can mix and match Windows Azure instances with traditional on-premise Ektron instances, ensuring sensitive content remains local while still benefitting from Windows Azure cloud delivery.
In addition, users are benifitted from scale on-the-fly based on usage patterns where usage of Windows Azure instances can be scheduled, ensuring user’s Ektron site is ready to scale when it most needs and Windows Azure provides a highly available platform for large organisations, ensuring maximum uptime for user Ektron site.
Ektron founder and CEO Bill Rogers said Ektron has enabled its users to publish to the cloud in a matter of minutes by connecting Ektron to Windows Azure.
"With Ektron Windows Azure Edition, we’ve created a simple interface where users select the number of Windows Azure instances they need and the locations they would like to target, and 15 minutes later the site is live on the global, scalable and reliable Windows Azure cloud," said Rogers.
