Deutsche Telekom has introduced complete Software as a Service (SaaS) package via the Internet for the energy industry.
The offering provides the complete process chain with over 1,600 individual components via the cloud, while the infrastructure via its network ensures security of the booked business processes, said the company.
The company said that the offering supports energy and network providers in their daily back office business with its portfolio of modular IT offerings.
The services include metering point operation, billing and customer care.
Telekom energy business area head Gabriele Riedmann de Trinidad said their offerings enable energy and metering point providers as well as the housing industry to handle mass data.
"Germany is still hesitant when it comes to setting up electronic meters and once they’re available across the country, however, there will be an explosive rise in data volume, and providers will then be glad they have flexible SaaS offerings to choose from instead of running their own applications," Trinidad said.
