Dell’s latest generation of PowerEdge servers are pushing application acceleration with Avago’s SAS technology.
The storage hardware, which Dell is targeting at new IT trends like BYOD, big data and cloud computing, are able to handle high volumes of data traffic and storage consumption with the 12Gb/s SAS solutions, Avago claimed.
Tom Swinford, senior VP for data centres at Avago, said: "Avago and Dell collaborated closely on integrating Avago 12Gb/s SAS technology into the latest generation of Dell PowerEdge RAID Controllers to ensure that Dell’s customers would have an effective solution to provide the performance and data protection required for enterprise IT applications."
The SAS technology provides internal storage for the RAID controllers as well as data protection stretching to cover a wide range of storage performance and capacity requirements.
It also supports high-bandwidth applications and offers balance protection and performance for critical applications, according to Avago.
"Dell is pleased to introduce its 13th generation PowerEdge server portfolio, which adds Avago 12Gb/s SAS technology and enables our customers to optimise their systems for the most data-intensive workloads," said Ravi Pendekanti, VP of product marketing and management for Dell PowerEdge Servers.
