Dell has acquired computer services provider Clerity Solutions to help customers reduce the expenditure of transferring their business-critical applications and data from old computing systems to modern architectures, including the cloud.
Clerity’s re-hosting application will enable the corporate customers to migrate their applications from old computing architectures to the new IT environment of their choice.
Chicago-based computer services provider helps customers to minimise the need to retest systems and retrain IT personnel by automating the transition approach to IT modernisation through its UniKix application, resulting in overall cost and time savings.
Following the acquisition, approximately 70 employees of Clerity will be joining the Dell Services team and are expected to make continued investments to improve the applications modernisation capabilities of its services business.
Dell Services president Steve Schuckenbrock said the company remains committed to open architecture computing and to help customers implement optimal platforms for their applications.
"Increasingly, these x86 platforms are enabling super-scale cloud environments, and the addition of Clerity gives us a clear advantage in helping customers modernize and migrate their applications off outdated hardware infrastructure to more current architectures. We are thrilled to welcome the Clerity team to Dell," said Schuckenbrock.
