Dell has appointed Rory P. Read and Paul Pérez to key executive positions on its Commercial Sales and Enterprise Solutions leadership teams.
Read, a veteran of Advanced Micro Devices, Lenovo and IBM, will become Chief Operating Officer and President of Worldwide Commercial Sales. In his new role he will hold responsibility for go-to-market initiatives as well as omni-channel sales planning and enablement.
Meanwhile, Pérez has become Chief Technology Officer of Dell’s Enterprise Solutions Group. The former vice-president of Cisco‘s Computing Systems Product Group will collaborate with server, storage, networking and engineered solutions teams on near-term product and solutions roadmaps, as well as leading the design and roll-out of Dell’s new data centre technologies.
Both will report to Marius Haas, Chief Commercial Officer and President of Enterprise Solutions Group, with Read starting on April 6 and Pérez starting on 24 March.
Chairman and CEO Michael Dell commented: "Rory and Paul add enterprise IT expertise and depth to Dell’s leadership team and will help accelerate Dell’s place as an enterprise powerhouse and trusted advisor to businesses globally.
"I look forward to their contributions – from the design of our solutions to how we deliver and support them with our customers."
"Dell is one of the most exciting companies in the industry right now with its ascension into the top tier of enterprise vendors and, soon, as the only credible end-to-end IT company," said Rory P. Read, Chief Operating Officer of Commercial Sales, Dell.
He added: "I am very excited to join the company and help accelerate its evolution. The best way I know how to do this is to delight our customers at every turn and that will be my first priority."
Paul Pérez, Chief Technology Officer of Enterprise Solutions Group, commented: "I believe Dell’s best days are ahead. It’s very clear the industry is moving towards software-defined data centres running on industry standard x86 servers, and Dell, with its strength in compute and storage, and growing networking portfolio, is poised to lead this transition.
"I am thrilled to be at the centre of architecting and designing the solutions that enable customers to achieve this vision and to do so powered by Dell."
